Global Ministries

We daily have the privilege of seeing how God is working through the lives of the ministries and missionaries we support. In 2009, over 1,500 people represented Johnson Ferry on 70 mission trips to 27 countries. Over the years, we have traveled to nearly every continent of the world. We are not finished yet. God continues to challenge us to take the Gospel to those who may not have heard it, and who may never hear it, if we do not go and share. Open your heart to the challenge of reaching people for christ–get involved through trips, local projects, serving on a team, or participating in the annual Global Ministries Conference when we welcome guests from all over the world. How is God calling you to actively participate in spreading His word?

Objectives & Strategies

  • Lead the church in fulfilling the Great Commission by proclaiming the Gospel nationally and internationally. Further, we desire to teach and disciple Christians both at JFBC and abroad.
  • Encourage and plan mission trips to give JFBC members the opportunities to serve in the mission field. By this endeavor, we hope to prepare and develop ministers and missionaries as well.
  • Lead and/or assist in planting new churches locally and internationally.
  • Evangelize and lead others to Christ locally and internationally.
  • Promote involvement with those missionaries and ministries already supported by Johnson Ferry.
  • Offer local and international ministry projects.
EvanTell Evangelism Training

ACT is an evangelism course with a vision to encourage believers to train, pray and share the gospel as the Holy Spirit leads. They provide free online training so that the 2 biggest challenges in evangelism – fear and not knowing how – are no longer a factor. Their mission is to enable the communication of the gospel so that more and more people share the gospel in more and more places every day.

Disaster Relief Minimize

Johnson Ferry’s Response to the Earthquake in Haiti:

Thank you so much to all of you who donated to disaster relief help in Haiti. To date, we have received $50,787.33 designated for relief work in Haiti.

How is Johnson Ferry responding to the tremendous need in Haiti?

We forwarded funds collected to the following three ministries:

  • Samaritan’s Purse
  • Mission for Haiti
  • Baptist Global Response

All of these ministries are not only responding to the urgent physical needs but also responding to deep spiritual needs through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We have sent two assessment teams in early February to work with our long-time ministry partners Adventures in Missions (AIM). These JF teams traveled to Haiti from a host location in the Dominican Republic.

Short-term Mission Trip Interest

If you are interested in serving on one of these short-term mission trip teams, please register your name online. We are compiling a list of names and will communicate with you once opportunities are solidified. We especially need people with medical skills.

We are still accepting donations for Disaster Relief efforts in Haiti devastated by the recent earthquake. If you would like to contribute, you can make a donation online or by check payable to Johnson Ferry Baptist Church with a note for "Disaster Relief-Haiti". Checks can be taken to the business office or mailed to Johnson Ferry.

Churchwide Disaster Relief/ Rebuild Adult Trips

Skilled and unskilled men and women workers, are needed. General rebuilding, flooring, painting, ministering to home owners, and non-construction ministry activities are just some of the things that you will experience.  As these trips are organized and available for sign-ups, they will be available for registration on the web.

Johnson Ferry members, Matt and EB Jackson, moved their family from Atlanta to Budapest, Hungary in 2002 so they could be in a better position to use their abilities to serve the work of the gospel in a spiritually dry part of the world.   Learn more about their ministry and read an essay by their daughter, Liz about her experiences as a “Missionary Kid.”
