DR 2025 | Day 1 | Travel Day

Greetings from the Dominican Republic!

Parents — we made it! As I write this, students are spread out all over the Rawlings facility doing their devotions and making memories. They overcame LOTS of challenges yesterday and we are so proud of them!

Yesterday was a crazy travel day! Our Charter 1 flight went off without too many problems, but when they got to the DR — we had lots of missing luggage. That’s okay though, because Charter 2 had it all! What a relief. 😅

Our Charter 2 flight was delayed about two hours. The students never wavered in their positive attitudes and were so kind to flight attendants, airport staff, and each other. You all should be so proud. 🥹

We ended our night with a time of prayer and worship. Students prayed all over the room about how God was going to use them and were relying on His strength to help them this week. They were praying with expectancy and thanking God for His Holy work. We wish you could have hear them pouring out their hearts to the Lord in worship — it was beautiful.

Today is going to be all about building unity and preparing our hearts and minds for the ministry work ahead. Our team will spend the day participating in team-building activities that helped strengthen our connections. We are also taking time to  time to prep for tomorrow’s ministry opportunities—practicing skits, organizing materials, and praying together. It’s a hot day here, but spirits are high and the energy is contagious as we get ready to serve!
