Church Planting

Since 2012, Johnson Ferry has served along with North American Mission Board in its SEND North America church planting strategy for the San Francisco Bay Area. Our initial goal was to see 50 new churches planted in ten years. After a decade, we have seen 84 new churches begin through the efforts of many churches coming together. We celebrate and praise God for what He has done!

As we relaunch as a church this fall we are also excited about relaunching our church planting strategy for the next decade. After seeing how God has moved in the Bay area, we now hope to invest the next decade in New York City. NYC has more than 22 million people in the metro area and is considered to be the most influential city in the world. Some 36 percent of the population is foreign-born, resulting in varied cultural and religious backgrounds. Though 83 percent of New Yorkers are affiliated with some form of organized religion, only 4 percent identify themselves as evangelical, per a recent study by the Values and Research Institute.

Please join us as we pray and ask the Lord to:

  • Lead people in NYC to follow Him
  • Strengthen churches already established so they may raise disciples who make disciples
  • Raise up pastors to plant new churches in NYC
  • Send churches from around the country to help partner in church planting in NYC
  • Send people from Johnson Ferry to support church plants in NYC.

Pray for our current key church plant partners in NYC:
